At Open Minds, we are committed to learning about your child and the unique ways they experience themselves, others, and the world around them.
Attuned, connected relationships come first, and are the cornerstone of wellbeing and growth in all areas. As a key adult in your child's life, you are the biggest difference maker.
The ways your child engages, communicates, and behaves is a reflection of how they are managing their experiences and the demands of life. Struggles typically reflect their needs for our understanding, connection, and carefully constructed supports.
Growth happens within a step-by-step, developmental framework, and is never achieved by simply instructing or forcing compliance. New skills and behaviours naturally emerge when we work toward meeting your child's needs, and when we guide meaningful and developmentally appropriate next steps.
Together with you, we create one-step-ahead growth opportunities for your child and for you as their guide in this process.

You are central to your child's care, and the most important member of your child's team. We collaborate with you at every stage to determine service priorities and plans, carry out therapeutic supports, develop strategies for home, monitor progress, and determine next steps.
We love getting to know your child and family. Together with you, we explore ways to incorporate your child's and family's interests, preferences, strengths, and cultural values. The therapy experience is customized to meet your child's and family's learning needs, style, and pace.
Together with you, we establish meaningful and achievable goals that support your child's growth, wellbeing, and skill development in all settings and across the lifespan. We strive to understand and address why your child is struggling to best support progress.
Client care is best carried out by a team who works together to support your child and family. We collaborate with respite providers, educators, and other health professionals. We welcome joint observations, assessments, consultations, treatment planning, and therapy sessions.
